RAEL'S COMMENT: This is a great decision that should be applied worldwide and lowered even more, to 14 at least. Young people are much more concerned about political decisions that affect our future environment than old people, who don't really care since they have
just a few years left to live. At the same time, the voting right should be removed from people whose illness render them unable to make decisions, such as the mentally retarded, older people with Alzheimers or other degenerative diseases that render them unable to decide even simple things in their lives, etc. It's shocking to see that families or even nurses vote for these people. A long time ago, when selfishness, nationalism, competition and greed weren't ruling the world, elder councils were making good decisions. Such people don't
exist anymore. The elder councils of the past should be replaced with “youngster councils" made up of young people, who are not yet tainted by egoism, selfishness, nationalism and competition, and who have a much better vision of what the future world should be.
